Background
A leading wind energy engineering firm faced QHSE programmatic challenges and talent shortages as they planned an expansion of their multi-billion dollar portfolio across Europe, Asia and North America. Not only were they struggling to identify skilled professionals that could develop sustainable programs and deliver projects safely, a diverse set of labor laws within each market presented an added layer of complexity and legal risk for the business.
Solution
Shirley Parsons worked closely with the client's Quality & HSE teams, from bid development through to project handover, providing an integrated service that included program development, long-term embedded resources, and short-term temporary staff for key points in each project.
We set up legal business entities in each new market that our client was targeting, and began developing local pipelines of talent for future projects. We supported our resources through GWO certification and on-the-job training, which has latterly been developed into a bespoke QHSE training and mentorship program.
Outcomes
Our partnership approach has given our client the confidence to continue submitting bids into new markets, enabling rapid expansion of their portfolio. Our experts have helped continually improve QHSE performance whilst minimizing management overheads, and Shirley Parsons has now been working with this client for almost 15 years.
