Shirley Parsons has partnered with the CQI to help create the Quality Workforce Insights survey. The findings range from the differences in pay between the sexes, how age sensitive the sector is and how Quality is defining itself in organisations across the world.
This is the first Quality survey the CQI have carried out and the findings confirm that Quality as a profession is strengthening across all the global areas that took part in the survey.
Estelle Clarke, Director of Policy at the CQI commented, “When we saw the results of this research, I was delighted to find that Quality Professionals are a really happy bunch! They get paid well, and those who are CQI members are more satisfied and better paid than those who aren’t members.”
Interestingly, the gender pay gap in the sector shows signs of improvement with nearly 45% of respondents in the 16-34 age range being female and confirming that in Europe female salaries for this group are slightly higher than men. Estelle continued by adding, “I do have concerns about the pay and opportunity gap for women in the field, so we encourage employers to take note of this and put appropriate actions in place, and at the CQI we will continue to monitor this issue.”
Shirley Parsons CEO at Shirley Parsons Ltd commented, “We are delighted to have been asked to partner with the CQI to help create this first survey capturing everything from salaries, job satisfaction and areas of current political focus like the gender pay gap and age equality. We’ve been working with businesses in the Quality sector for a number of years and have seen enormous changes in how different sectors are embracing Quality as a way of enhancing their businesses and helping improve performance.”
