About Cameron

​​Cam joined Shirley Parsons in June of 2020 after spending the previous three years working in temporary staffing of finance, accounting, and administrative professionals. Cam attended Roanoke College in Virginia, studying history, before pursuing his master’s degree in Sports Business at Temple University in Philadelphia. While at Temple, Cam worked for Temple Football’s scouting department, where he got his first exposure to recruitment and came to enjoy working with people to help them to achieve their personal goals.

After completing his master’s degree, Cam began his career in agency recruitment focusing on business development and client management. At Shirley Parsons, Cam is part of the Construction and Energy team, specializing in temporary staffing of Health and Safety positions across North America.

A leading container terminal operator is looking for an HSE Director, to join it's team based in Long Beach, CA. You will be responsible for setting the strategic vision for the corporate HSE program, leading a team of HSE personnel, and ensuring a commitment toward HSE excellence across all levels of the business. The Role: Take ownership over the development and implementation of new strategies and initiatives to continually improve the HSE program & cultureCollect, analyze and report on HSE metrics and KPIs, identifying trends and utilizing results to manage, modify and deliver HSSE priorities/trainings across the businessLead, mentor and develop all existing and future HSE personnel within the organizationEnsure compliance with all Federal, State, County, City, and Port Authority Regulations - ensuring the company stays up-to-date with any regulatory changes that require corrective action across operations.Lead the company shift from environmental compliance to environmental excellence. Understanding of stormwater regulations and permitting operations is required  The Candidate: Proven HSE leadership experience working within terminal operations, port/logistics or similar transportation industries - would be highly preferred (circa. 8-10 years)Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or Occupational Health & Safety (preferred)A strong communicator, who can engage with employees across all business levels as it relates to HSE matters Any candidate must have experience with heavy equipment operations and stormwater regulation, in order to be consideredBased near Long Beach, CA and able to commute to the office/site as required - this is an on-site role and does not support remote work opportunities
