EHS Director

A specialist manufacturing company is searching for a Director of Environmental Health & Safety to join its team. The Director will be actively involved in hands-on, tactical, and strategic duties, and serve as a prominent leader in promoting company-wide engagement at all levels. This role requires frequent travel of up to 70% to a company site located outside of Texas.The Role: Promote a proactive safety culture at all levels of the organization, with heavy focus on employee engagement towards the safety programDevelops enterprise-wide strategy, work plans and goals to meet the organizations’ health and safety objectivesDevelop PPE standards, DOT compliance, facilitate training and safety assessments, metrics development and reporting. Identify, develop and deliver safety training in areas such as: safety regulation, hazardous conditions, use of tools and equipment etc. Ensure company continually remains compliant and informed of industry regulatory changes when it comes to bodies such as OSHA  The Candidate: Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, engineering or other field with applicable Safety and Health experience10+ years of experience with Health & Safety, preferably in the chemical industry.5+ years in management leading a team of health and safety professionalsA proven leader, with strong communication skills who can engage with internal & external stakeholders alikeCertified Safety Professional (CSP); or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) and/or other safety certification programs are preferred.

Working throughout California, you would be responsible for leading safety performance across all their facilities - ensuring a commitment towards safety excellence across all operational teams.
