Description
An international manufacturing and distribution organization is looking to appoint an EHS Manager to oversee a manufacturing facility in the Newark, NJ area. Working alongside the plant management team with support from corporate EHS resources, the successful candidate will be tasked with fostering a positive safety culture and influencing and engaging stakeholders at various levels of the business.
The Role:
Influences Plant, Production, Operations, Maintenance and site management to drive the EHS performance and results
Responsible for site PSM program and leading PSM audits
Monitors changes to EHS regulations and makes recommendations to incorporate these into EHS management systems and standards
Manages site EHS documentation including program design, EHS data collection and posting, training documentation, and KPI reports
Conducting environmental monitoring, testing and permit applications
The Candidate:
Minimum of 4 years’ EHS experience within a manufacturing environment
Experience in a chemical manufacturing environment and strong PSM experience and knowledge
Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in OHS, IH, Physical Science/Engineering
Professional certification strongly desirable (e.g. CSP, CIH, CHMM, PE)
Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage others
