Description

An international manufacturing organization is seeking a well-rounded EHS Manager at one of its locations near West Chicago, IL. The EHS Manager will be tasked with taking ownership of safety compliance on the plant level and managing various EHS programs. The EHS manager will also be responsible for educating employees using safety training programs and advising in investigating accidents to identify the cause and drive corrective and preventive actions.

The Role:

• Develop, manage, and implement appropriate health and safety procedures in accordance with federal, state, local, and corporate requirements.
• Assist in compliance reviews, general risk assessments, and other safety assessments.
• Manage and perform activities to ensure compliance with the site Industrial Hygiene program.
• Participate in detailed incident investigation teams to determine root causes and corrective and preventive actions.

The Candidate:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science, or a related degree.
• 5+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment. 
• Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT Standards, and other industrial accepted safe work practices.
• Strong communication skills, ability to engage with employees at all levels.
