Safety Director

Description

A world-class organization is looking to hire a Corporate Safety Director to oversee the compliance and safety programs for the company. The incumbent will be tasked with ensuring safety regulations are met and overseeing organizational compliance with local, state and federal EHS regulations. Reporting to the Vice President of EHS, the successful candidate will lead a team and will be tasked with influencing and driving a safety culture, providing innovative strategy, and providing insight for continuous improvement.

The Role:

  • Take ownership of the development and implementation of new strategies and initiatives to continually improve the safety program & culture
  • Collect, analyze, and report on safety metrics and KPIs at both a project and company level, identifying trends and utilizing results to manage, modify and deliver safety priorities across the business
  • Act as the figurehead for the safety program, working with all levels of staff, from site-based personnel through executive leadership and senior client contacts in order to reinforce a "Safety First" attitude across the organization
  • Work alongside industry regulatory bodies to ensure compliance to any and all relevant local, state or federal legislation


The Candidate:

  • Proven leader with experience managing safety on large-scale operations 
  • Bachelor's Degree (required)
  • CSP (required)
  • Experience working at a VPP plant
  • Effective communicator across all levels - with the capacity to communicate all corporate safety matters to internal and external stakeholders alike
  • 10+ years' of safety experience
