A leading heavy-civil contractor is looking for a Safety Professional to join their team. You will be responsible for overseeing multiple projects, working closely with senior leadership to ensure safety remains the number one priority for all employees. This represents a fantastic opportunity to join an established company, who are viewed as industry leaders in their field.

The Role:

• Undertake project safety inspections, incident investigations and audits - reporting back to leadership regarding best practice and corrective measures needed
• Provide support in the development and implementation of safety training for job-site teams
• Prepare project related safety documents e.g. monthly safety statistics
• Ensure compliance to all state and federal regulations e.g. OSHA
• Conduct weekly safety meetings with project based staff e.g. sub-contractors, suppliers

The Candidate:

• At a minimum 5 years experience managing safety on a heavy civil-construction project 
• Bachelors Degree in Occupational Safety, Engineering or other related discipline (preferred)
• A strong communicator who can engage with both key internal and external stakeholders
• Based in Reno, NV and happy with regional travel (40%)
