Description

A chemical manufacturing company is seeking a Process Safety Engineer to help support the EHS function at their facility in the Concord, CA area. The Process Safety Engineer will be responsible for implementing the PSM program as well as fostering a healthy safety culture and overseeing all training at the plant level. 

The Role: 

• Ensure adherence to federal, state, local, and company regulations governing Process Safety Management (PSM) and Risk Management Plan (RMP), fostering a culture of compliance
• Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential hazards within manufacturing processes, implementing strategies to mitigate risks effectively, and regularly reviewing and updating Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) to reflect process changes.
• Collaborate closely with the EHS team to oversee various aspects of EHS compliance

 The Candidate: 

• 4+ years of PSM and RMP experience
• Background in chemical manufacturing preferred
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage others
• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational, Environmental, or Engineering Sciences
