QHSE Oversight for Offshore Wind Projects in the United States
An international renewable energy developer with a global portfolio of offshore wind projects had a critical need for QHSE oversight of their suppliers as their projects in the United States transitioned into the construction phase. However, the local talent pool of candidates with experience of large-scale offshore wind projects was limited.
This presented a distinctive challenge in ensuring effective and efficient QHSE management that would enable on-time and on-budget project delivery.
Our Approach
In response to this challenge, we harnessed our global expertise to offer remote consultation to the local project leaders, assisting them in formulating comprehensive project QHSE plans. Simultaneously, we positioned a local, on-site Safety Consultant to supervise the contractors involved in the construction of onshore port facilities.
We have ensured continued professional development for this consultant, supporting his attainment of the necessary certification and ensuring he has additional mentorship and support from our international team of industry experts. We have also further developed our talent pipeline to include additional team members scheduled for deployment.
The Results
With the wheels of our solution in motion, progress on the projects has continued unhindered. We are currently involved in various aspects of multiple projects, including submarine cable laying, turbine installation, and other critical elements. Our team has successfully integrated into our client's operations, and we have additional deployments scheduled throughout the next 12 months and beyond.
